The Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert is the biggest hot desert in the world. It is in Africa. The Sahara is very hot during the day, but it can be cold at night. The Sahara Desert has lots of sand. The wind makes big sand dunes. They can look like mountains. There are also many rocks in the Sahara.  

There is not much water in the Sahara. Some plants, like the cactus, keep water in their stems. Camels can live many days without drinking. Many animals, like lizards and foxes, sleep during the day and come out at night when it is cool.
