Today, education has become a priority for many parents seeking to secure a good future for their children in this rapidly changing world. They believe that if their children apply themselves and work hard at school, then they will increase their opportunities for going to higher education and eventually getting a good job. Of course, they are right, and as access to the best education and best jobs is becoming more competitive, then it is true that children have to make the best of their study time when they are young.
However, the parents who do not allow their children sufficient free time for leisure activities outside school hours are misguided. Such activities are far from being a waste of time for the children simply because they are not academic. It is important to remember that children need to develop skills other than intellectual ones, and the best way to do this is through activities such as sports, games and playing with other kids. If they cannot play make-believe games, how can they develop their imagination? How can they learn physical coordination or learn important social lessons about winning and losing if they do not practise any sports? Many children form strong, personal relationships with the friends they play with, and without the opportunity to do this, they could grow up emotionally immature or unformed.
Finally, I think it is also important to remember that, children need to relax as well as work. If everything they do must have some educational or academic relevance, then they will soon get tired of studying altogether, which is the last thing parents would want.

Should parents plan their children's leisure time carefully? Or should they let their children decide for themselves how to spend their free time? before answering these two qusetions, we should first of all ask another question: do children know how to plan to spend their free time? The answer to this question is both "yes" and "no". Our common sense tells us that some children spend their free time in a planned way while some others, especially the younger ones, just play as they like without any paln at all.
The above answer leads to three more relevant questions about those children who know how to plan their leisure time: How have they obtained the ability? Is the ability innate? Or is the ability learnt? Our observations tell us that this ability is not born but learned from others---their parents, teachers, other adults, or other children.
With these questions settled, the answer to the first two questions should be verry clear. Parents should not give their children a free hand at the beginning. INstead, they should plan their childrren's leisure time carefully, making sure that their children understand why they should have a plan. In this way, the children will gradually forma habit of making palns and know how to make a good plan.. Then, we can say these children know how to spend their leisure time.
When children alrady know how to spend their free time , they will not need any longer for the parents to paln for them. The most they can do is to keep an eye on their children's activities and give some guidance or advice when necessary. For most of the time, children should be allowed to decide for themselves. The whole process is in fact a process of training, in which instruction, demonstration and practice should be planned in a scientific way. Without plenty of practice, the whole process of learning would be a failure.
Today, there are many parents who are indifferent to that child doing a very harmful job. Today's era develops and people also develop with the times. Parents often think that having a lot of money will lead to a happy life. Should only pay attention to making money and neglect to care for children. Some people even think that their job is right because they earn money to support their children. But I don't know that behind there are many consequences. For example, my child's school failure is not known, or he learns bad habits or he does not eat enough nutrients.. mother cares. and there are many others as well. From those consequences, each parent needs to spend a little of their time taking care of and re-teaching their children more.
Today, parents spend less time with their children than in the past. Many parents meet all material requirements such as TVs, computers, and phones for their children to help their children develop comprehensively. However, children do not need those souless things, what children need most of all is the care and spiritual support of their parents at the right time. Talking to children every day, prompting them to confide in their parents sometimes only takes an hour. When spending time with children, what they need is comfort, encouragement, sharing, not blame or scolding. If so, then children will be the most affected and hurt. Children who lack family affection become indifferent, emotionless, do not care about others, are under a lot of pressure in life, are ridiculed by friends. Therefore, in any era, parents should pay attention and spend more time with their children, do not let them become insensitive.
Would parents decide how teenagers spend theo free time ?:
In my opinion, teenagers should not be decided the way they use their spare time by parents. Some of following reasons will prove it. First and foremost, we all know that everyone has their individual leisure time. Nobody could lay down the rule on how we devote our time to do something. This is especially true for juveniles because, at this age, they should feel free to do what they . That parents interfere with activities teenagers do is the same to limit the freedom that they deserve to be enjoyed. Furthermore, the benefit that arises from those activities is not much should they be reluctant to do what they do not intend. Secondly, being free to do what adolescents means that they have more opportunity to create something new. There won’t be any limits in their mind no longer and they can develop naturally. They can attain great success and have a happy life. Although parents shouldn’t decide how their children spend their spare time, they can give some useful advice so that teenagers can use it properly. In addition, parents should remind their children if they are in wrong way. This is the most ultimate way to encourage teenagers to develop further. In summary, those above reasons have led me to conclude that parents should let their children do what they in their free time but do not forget to follow them to make sure that their activities are best fit to moral standards.
My opinion, parents should decide for teenagers spend their free time sensibly. right balance between learning and playing. First, young people can play thirty minutes in their free time after school is finished. during work breaks, teens can play sports such as basketball, football, badminton and so on. have few friends, free time is not known, then on facebook all day. it's a waste of time. Second, young people can read books to develop the brain and thinking ability. Third, young people can help their parents with housework in your spare time, or go charity with her parents. Fourth, parents should provide for youth participation in social activities so that they are more confident and make friends. for this reason, parents should let teens participate in activities or play in their free time and do not create pressure for teens.
